Follow-up project approved: „Eco4Life“ networks Northern Poland, Lithuania and Germany to boost entrepreneurship

The project “Eco4Life-South Baltic Network for Environmental and Life Sciences to Boost Cross Border Cooperation” aims to network and bundle competencies in the field of environmental and Life Sciences in the coastal regions of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, the West Pomeranian Voivodeship and the Klaipeda County.

Life Science marketing projects at the Baltic Sea - Polish-German Life Science Forum

Main target of this project is to build and to tighten bridges for the development of a conjoint market in the field of biotechnology and Life Sciences between the Polish and German border regions at the Baltic Sea. The focus thereby is initially set on Greifwald and Szczecin, the two university towns close to the border.
Based on present experiences, the potential of German and Polish companies and research institutes in the field of Life Science is therefore collected systematically, a survey of specific cooperation interests created and the co-operation tightened.
The strategic partner of BioCon Valley^® GmbH on this project is the West Pomeranian Centre of Advanced Technologies (ZCZT). A Polish-German contact point “Life Sciences“ situated in Greifswald as well as an internet platform “Polish-German Life Science Network“ will be established to implement common targets. An international conference, scheduled for autumn 2009, completes the project, which is funded by the International Office of the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and is likewise part of the national campaign “Research in Germany – Land of Ideas“.
The forum is part of the official activities in 2009 in the frame of the formal partnership of the German Federal State Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and the Polish Voivodeship West-Pomerania.
